Two-sport athletes help women’s lacrosse team transition

Emerson’s women’s lacrosse team is in the midst of its first season of competition in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference. As the team works to earn respect in its new conference, the squad will look to five dual sport athletes, who already have NEWMAC experience under their belt, to help propel their team into the playoffs.

Athletes react to new AD

Emerson announced the hiring of new athletic director Patricia Nicol on March 18, replacing Stan Nance, who took over in an interim role in May 2012 after Kristen Parnell's resignation. Nicol, who spent the last 10 years at Division 2 Southern Connecticut State University at the same position, will officially begin May 19.

New athletic director looks to reach alumni

As Emerson’s new athletic director, Patricia Nicol said she’ll have to wait until she officially begins her duties May 19 to really have any concrete plans for changing the department. She did, however, emphasize the importance of alumni relations.

Men’s tennis coach faces tall task with small team, new competitive conference

The Emerson men’s tennis team was one of the school’s most successful squads in the spring of 2013. Finishing with a 10-2 overall record, the team reached the Great Northeast Athletic Conference semi-finals before losing to Suffolk University.

Patricia Nicol accepts job to become Emerson's new athletic director

Emerson has hired Patricia Nicol to be its new athletic director, according to Dean of Students Ronald Ludman, and a statement released by the college today. Nicol is currently serving as the athletic director at Southern Connecticut State University.

Freshman infusion has baseball looking forward

The Emerson College men’s baseball team completed its annual spring break trip to Fort Myers, Fla., and returned to Boston with a 2-7 record and a bounce in its step. Emerson’s two victories now equal last year’s win total for the entire season, although both came against Northland College of Wisconsin, which is currently 1-8.
