The first person Ian Tasso met on Emerson’s move-in day in September 2007 was fellow freshman Jesse Liebman. “He walked into my room with his hockey bag and goes ‘Hi, I’m Jesse, I play hockey,’” said Tasso with a grin, “and that’s how the legend was born.”

The Gross product: Sophomore ranks nationally in volleyball stat

Jared Gross is not the most physically imposing volleyball player. At 5-foot-9, he’s easily the shortest player on the Emerson men’s team. Despite that hurdle, the sophomore from Wexford, Pa. managed to finish second in all of Division 3, with 3.25 digs per set.

Off the diamond, softball continues to excel

After the conclusion of their 2013 campaign, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association recognized Emerson’s softball team as the top academic team in the country, beating out 29 other Division 1, 2, and 3 schools with a 3.7 cumulative team GPA.
