Incident Journal

The Incident Journal is provided to the Beacon weekly by the Emerson College Police Department. Beacon staff edit the Incident Journal for style and clarity, but not for content.

 

Monday, Oct. 23

A community member was trapped inside an elevator in the Tufte Performance and Production Center. While authorities were speaking to the individual, the elevator buttons lit up and the elevator began to move. The individual was able to exit on the next floor.  

 

Tuesday, Oct. 24

A student reported finding a poster vandalized on the second floor of the Walker Building.

 

Thursday, Oct. 26

A student reported that a person unaffiliated with the college threw an object at a group of students on Boylston Street, striking one in the arm. The student was not injured and the Emerson College Police Department is trying to identify the person involved.

 

Friday, Oct. 27

ECPD and the Office of Housing and Residence Life investigated an alarm coming from the 12 Hemenway dorm. A check of the building by OHRL and ECPD showed no signs of any fire.

A student reported being assaulted while walking in front of the Little Building.The student was not injured. ECPD has identified the perpetrator and the incident is being investigated.

 

Saturday, Oct. 28

ECPD conducted a check of the Walker Building after a staff member reported finding the front door unsecure. ECPD found nothing out of the ordinary.  

A staff member reported finding cabling vandalized inside the WECB radio studio.

A student was accosted by an individual while shopping in Downtown Crossing. The student reported having some items taken during the incident.

 

Sunday Oct. 29

A student reported leaving an expensive camera inside Blaze Pizza on Stuart Street.  When they went to retrieve their camera, employees said it was not there. ECPD later spoke to the manager, who had the camera in a back room for safekeeping. The camera was returned to the student.
