The family of a 22-year-old Boston University student who died in a fire last year plans to file a wrongful death suit against the landlords and brokers of her former apartment building, according to the Boston Globe.

Binland Lee was killed in a fire in her Allston apartment in April 2013. Her family alleges the apartment was rented to her illegally and did not have proper exits or fire alarm systems, the Globe reported.

The suit was filed Aug. 20 in Suffolk Superior Court. This comes three months after the Boston Globe’s investigative team wrote a detailed account of the tragic Linden Street fire that killed Lee.
