The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders has created a research registry and is looking for potential participants both inside and outside the Emerson community.
The secure online database allows participants to sign up through
research.emerson.edu. Once signed up, volunteers will be contacted by a member of the communication sciences and disorders faculty if they fit the profile for a study, according to Elyse Dion, a research assistant and communication sciences and disorders graduate student.
Volunteers will not be paid, according to a letter to potential research participants. However, Dion said that depending on the amount of the grant and the professor running the study, there may be gift cards or other compensation.
According to Dion, before the registry, those running the study were responsible for finding their own participants. She added that they are looking for anyone to sign up, at any age, with or without a communication disorder.
