Emerson Police hiring detective

The Emerson College Police Department seeks to hire a detective specializing in investigating crimes and assisting students with domestic and dating violence and harassment prevention, according to a job posting on Emerson’s website.

The department is looking for a person experienced in criminal and constitutional law. The detective would work to obtain evidence, facts, and information, as well as conduct investigations on campus. The new hire would act as the department’s court liaison officer and would be expected to testify during trials and other legal proceedings, prepare paperwork, and work with victims of crimes, according to the job description.

This individual would be paid a starting salary of at least $40,000 per year, according to the posting.

ECPD spokesmen were not immediately available for comment.
