Sophomore Paul Almeida has been named the executive president of the 2013-2014 school year, beating current class of 2014 senator Benjamin Halls for the spot.

“I’m going to move forward with all the initiatives on the table right now,” said Almeida, a political communication and marketing communication double major. “Once that is all wrapped up I am going to start on the initiatives that I detailed in my campaign speech. First and foremost, I would like to just get started implementing things, like the print credit initiative.”

According to SGA Elections Commissioner Jasmine Reyes, Almeida received 231 out of the 434 total votes.

Candidate Benjamin Halls said he still plans on being a part of the SGA.

“I’d like to stay involved and hopefully it will be possible,” said the writing, literature, and publishing major. “Next semester would be my fourth semester involved, it isn’t something I wouldn’t want to do away with it.”
