Jenna McPadden, 2013 class president, debates an appeal.

Artful Comics was granted its full appeal at Tuesday’s Student Government Association meeting.

Sawyer Hurwitz, the current editor of the publication, appealed for $173.11 to pay for printing 400 copies of the group’s third annual comic anthology and a launch party.

According to the organization’s website, Artful Comics formed in 2009 and is the only on-campus club that showcases graphic art.

“[The issues] were all gone in one day,” said Hurwitz, a sophomore visual and media arts major, of last year’s issue. “Our email list alone is in the hundreds. We print in black and white to cut costs.”

After accounting for a $2 discrepancy, the appeal was raised to $175.11, where it was passed unanimously by all present members.
