With mononucleosis comes an enlarged spleen, a need for rest and an inevitable spot on the bench for freshman lead-scorer Bryan Rouse.

Men's basketball Coach Hank Smith believes that "there is a good chance" Rouse will be out for the rest of the season, but he has come up with a plan that has helped the Lions win their last pair of games against Norwich and Suffolk.

"We've had to go smaller," said Smith. "We have to rely a lot more on defense and boxing out. We don't just have the automatic point side."

Rouse leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging about 20 points and 6 boards per game, respectively.

As an active and vital memeber of the team, Rouse said being out of the action hasn't been easy.

"It's hard sitting there watching the team," Rouse said. "As long as they keep winning, I guess it isn't that bad."
