K-Os; Atlantis: Hymns For Disco; available Feb. 20

The three-time Juno Award winner, four-time MuchMusic Award winner, and six-time Canadian Urban Music Award winner is apparently quite popular in Canada. A listen of his previous masterworks, Exit and Joyful Rebellion, not only justifies this phenomenon, it gives a great deal of credit to Canada's taste in hip-hop. In Atlantis, K-Os meditates upon the success his past work got him up north, creating an album that's sure to turn up the ambition to prevent him from selling out. Nonetheless, look for K-Os to tear it up once again at the 2007 Juno Awards in sunny Saskatoon, Saskatchewan!

Field Music; Tones Of Town; available Feb. 20

Judging by the sound of his nitty-gritty punk band, Futureheads drummer Peter Brewis should theoretically possess the demeanor of Animal, everyone's favorite drumming Muppet. However, when he joins forces with his brother David and Andrew Moore to form the Sunderland, England trio Field Music, the story changes completely. The combination of slice-of-life subject matter, precise composition, and an affable wit usually draws comparisons to XTC, as Pitchfork and Under The Radar have already done. You probably won't be hopping your decent days and nights away here, but the early buzz around this sophomore effort says it's enjoyable on a whole new level.
