Events on campus: Oct. 8-13

Emerson has many students and organizations that host events. This is exhibited through EmConnect’s event page. The Beacon Living Arts section went through the events for the next week and picked out a few for this week that seemed interesting.

Supper cooking lessons

Students wishing to escape the Dining Center food can attend a cooking class from 8:30-9:30 p.m. run by an RA on Monday. Attendees will learn to cook fresh food—with no experience required— on the eighth floor common room of the Paramount residence hall. Supplies will be provided. Only 10 spots are available and interested students can RSVP online.

Join the RA team

Students aiming to become resident assistants next year are invited to participate in the upcoming selection process. The Office of Housing and Residence Life will be at Center Stage on Thursday to answer questions about the position.

Time to get professional

On Tuesday night, students can attend a resume and cover letter workshop in L151 in the Campus Center. The workshop will go over do’s and don’ts for resume and cover letter creation, design, and application. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive free office supplies from Muji.

Focus on mental health in the LGBTQ community

As a part of LGBTQ History Month, Emerson’s Advancement Group for Love and Expression, Active Minds, and Emerson Counseling and Psychological Services will host an event on Wednesday focusing on mental health in the LGBTQ community and support available on campus. The event will occur in the Private Dining Room next to Center Stage.
